Homeowners dream of having a lush, green lawn all year round to make their gardens feel complete. If yours is looking a bit under the weather, then follow our helpful tips on how to make grass green fast.
For most of your garden, mowing, watering, and lawn food will get your lawn thick and deep green! However, patchy areas of your lawn with dead grass or where pets have been peeing might not return to being vibrantly green as quickly. You will need to reseed in these areas with fresh grass seed, which can take a few weeks before seeing the results - but keep reading - we will go over that process too!
Mow your lawn often
Mow your lawn often. This could mean every three to four days in the summer, depending on how quickly your grass grows. We advise you set your mower height to cut no more than one-third of the height of your grass. Cutting your grass any lower than this will expose the lower area of the grass blades and can damage areas of your lawn.
Mowing a little off the top every few days encourages your lawn to grow thicker and look greener.
Water frequently
Water your lawn thoroughly at least twice a week. That shouldn't be a problem in the UK since nature will do that for you for most of the year. But in summer months, there can often be weeks without rainfall, so ensure your lawn is watered frequently and that all areas receive about an inch of water.
Frequent watering keeps your lawn hydrated and growing strong!
Feed with lawn food
Feeding your lawn is one of the best ways to promote healthy growth. Lawn food is rich in nitrogen to increase your lawn's growth potential, make your grass grow quicker, and become a deeper colour of green.
Ideally, it would be best if you aimed to feed your lawn twice
a year – once in autumn and once in spring. It is always best to use high-quality lawn foods to feed your
lawn over extended periods and ensure your grass gets the essential nutrients
it needs to thrive.
We also have a 3-in-1 Lawn Rescue that kills weeds and mosses while feeding your lawn for a further four weeks - for a weed and moss-free super green lawn.

Food to prepare your lawn for winter
Protecting your lawn from frost and harsh weather over winter helps maintain the grass's health so you have a lush lawn the following season. Winter Remedy achieves this with its nutrient-dense recipe that helps your grass combat frost, snow and winter diseases. This feed releases slowly over four months – for this reason, it is ideal to apply it in October to get the full effect when spring arrives the following year.
Feeding your lawn gives it the strength to grow greener all year!
Overseeding
Overseeding is an easy way to give your lawn a new lease of life. Adding seeds to your existing lawn will fill in bare spots that have been affected by grass diseases or damaged by droughts or dog pee patches. In addition, most gardens will benefit from overseeding at some point, and often adding extra seed will help invigorate your lawn and make it thicker and greener again.
Overseeding fills the gaps and bare spots on your lawn.
