Thank you for your question. Yes, this product needs to be watered in. Watering the granules helps the lawn food to dissolve and begin to work on your lawn.

For the Scotts Evergreen Easy Spreader+ we would recommend setting 5 for 2 passes.

As this is a pre treatment, we recommend applying the fertiliser before sowing the seeds. Once the product has dissolved, you can then seed the area.

Thank you for your query. Once fully dissolved you can let kids / pets back onto the lawn. The product is made up of small granules that when watered in thoroughly, will start to disperse and breakdown on the lawn. This process can take a number of days depending on how well it is watered.
